Track Lighting Fixtures

Track lighting systems are comprised of lighting fixtures attached to a track of various configuration and length.

Nowadays fixtures allows for great versatility, making them usable for different rooms. You can find a multitude of designs, to suite any taste and decor styles, from conemporary to traditional.

  • Track heads or lighting heads vary in shape. From the design point of view, they can be flat back cylinder, round back cylinder, step cylinder, cymbal ring, or universal lamp holder


  • Tracks can accomodate various types of light heads:

  • pendant fixtures

  • clip-on lamps

  • standard line voltage fixtures - see image above on the left

  • low-voltage spotlights - usually they have an integral transformer built-in, while some others will require an adaptor, and they will fit a standard track-see image above on the right

    • Tracks

  • Tracks are the bar units attached to the ceiling or to the wall. On them the track heads will get attached. There are three major type of tracks: Juno( often referred as type J), Halo( often referred as type H) and Lightolier( often referred as type L).

    Tracks come either in one or multiple circuit varieties. The multi-circuit type will allow you to operate two or more sets of lights independently.

    Tracks can also be categorized into:

  • free form tracks - where the number of light heads, as well as their position can vary. More versatile it allows to install various types of light heads.

  • fixed form tracks - where the number of track heads is fixed and already pre-attached. Price make them affordable and one of the first choices in track lighting fixtures for residential lighting.
