LOOKING FOR SOME FRESH FLORAL WREATHS IDEAS?
LOOK NO MORE!
WE FOUND FOR YOU SOME BEAUTIFUL WREATHS:

Summer wreaths, and roses wreaths will bring the warm touch of sunny days in any room.

Wall scented wreaths will bring you back memories of your childhood, or subtle scents of gardens.

And Christmas wall wreaths are a tradition for the white season.

There are literally hundreds of magazines with breathtaking floral wreaths and swags ideas for those who want to make their own; and home decor places with lots of wreaths on display, if you want to buy one that's already made.
You like them and you'd love to hang them on your walls.

IMPORTANT! - Like every other wall decor ensemble, some planning needs to be done, and things to consider before displaying:

  • Color, color, color...keep in mind what colors complement the best your room decor scheme. Make sure the background material in the wreath or swag, contrasts with the color of the wall.
  • Size - compare the size of the wreath with other pieces of furniture in the room. For example, a small floral wreath above a big fireplace will make the latter even bigger, and a big one above a small bed will make the bed look even smaller.
  • Visual balance - choose different textures for your wreaths and make sure the shapes of object around it will give that corner rythm and balance.

DID YOU KNOW?...Short Wreath History:

  • Wreath is known as a circular ornament of metal, leaves, flowers, or stems; it was worn by people in ancient times round their neck or head.
  • They were used as a decoration for festive occasions, but also for funerals.
  • Roman Empire - romans used them as a sign of victory in athletic games.
  • In Greek mythology, Apollo is represented wearing a laurel-wreath, and wreaths were awarded to victors, both in athletic competitions and poetic meets under his care.
  • Greece - A wreath of olive branches was placed on the winner's head("kotinos" in Greek). The reason to use olive branches was because the olive tree was considered the sacred tree of Athens, Greece.
  • Nowadays, the olive wreath is a symbol of PEACE.
  • Egypt - Withered remains of more than 4,000 years old wreaths were found in an Egyptian Pharaoh's burial pyramid.
In the tomb of Tutankhamun, it was found that the statuette of the deceased, as well as divine statuettes and jugs that contained food and drink, were provided with such floral wreaths.
  • India - Calendula is the most sacred flower of ancient India. Its flower heads were used to make garlands, which adorned holy statues.
  • Coming from Latins and Greeks, in time, that's how the "crown" was created. Made of precious metals, it's associated with royalty. The word "crown" derives from the Latin word "corona" - garland or wreath.
  • The Advent Wreath has its origins in the traditions of northern Europe. In winter, people used to lit candles on circular shaped evergreen wreaths. They were a symbol of ongoing life, as people were looking forward to the warmer and longer days of spring.
Later, Christians started using Advent wreaths, the way we know them today.
Traditionally, an advent wreath contains four candles-three purple and one rose. The three purple candles in the Advent wreath symbolize hope, peace, and love, and they are lit on the first, second, and fourth Sundays of Advent. The rose candle, which symbolizes joy, is usually lit on the third Sunday.
